Events & Workshops

We organize or sponsor monthly business and technology events or workshops with collaboration of our business associates and the great community members in our sister company www.Tazzu.com . These events are warm and friendly environments where we discuss and share software development, business and marketing aspects of social media technologies with each other.

Vancouver Business & Technology events

Unlike the conventional corporate style conferences we do not need to place walls among people with loud music and intrusive advertising messages. Here are some images of our past events. We use this wonderful service called Event Brite for registering the attendees.

Vancouver Joomla! Day 2008

Vancouver Joomla Day

On June14th 2008 from 9:00 AM to 5:30 please join us to celebrate what could be the largest Joomla! Day in Canada! We will be getting together at the Vancouver Public Library and there you get to meet many of the people who actually created the Joomla! CMS framework.

Vancouver Public LibraryJoomla! CMS is one of the most powerful Open Source content management systems (CMS) on the planet. Joomla! is easy to install, simple to manage, and reliable to use. The new version of Joomla (version 1.5) is an ideal platform for building Corporate websites, Intranets, Social Networks, and Web Applications in general all thanks to it's sturdy software architecture with Model View Controller (VMC) and the amazing Mootools Javascript framework.

Joomla! CMS has been inspired, developed and maintained by groups of volunteers from different countries around the world. It is a true evidence of what a crowd of inspired people can accomplish through an open source project. There are currently about 30 volunteers responsible for development and maintenance of Joomla CMS including a community of more than 180,000 users and 3rd party developers, all who have gathered around this project during the past couple of years.

WordPress BlogWordPress is perhaps the most commonly used Blogging web application on the web. We blog to express ourselves, share our thoughts, or promote our businesses. WordPress is one of the simplest forms of Social Media Content Management Systems where one or few people write blog posts, and many readers are able to provide feedback through comments. The social aspect of a blog makes it a very effective Communication and Marketing tool. Wordpress is an Open Source software released under the GPL and many aspects of it relies on the wisdom of the crowds.

Join us for the first Vancouver Joomla DocCamp event Print E-mail
Thursday, 20 December 2007

Attention: Vancouver's Joomla DocCamp is over now, however more information, pictures, and videos will be posted on our blog

Important Update 1: There is a new post on our blog which provides more detailed information about the upcoming Joomla DocCamp event

Joomla! DocCamp is the community effort of a number of Joomla Developers and writers who are getting together to write documentation for the new Joomla! 1.5 framework. This event will be happening simultaneously in many cities around the globe. So far we know that Vancouver BC and Brussels will be joining us during this great community event (View the official Joomla! Announcement ).

January 19th Joomla! DocCamp

We will be collaborating and writing documentation for Joomla, and will have loads of fun doing so. Joomla OSM has kindly covered the cost for the first soft drink, beer, and pizza per individual. We will be going to the nearby Steamworks restaurant to get our Pizza and Beer, and socialize during the one hour lunch break. There will be live Blogging, Flickring, posted YouTube videos, interviews with the participants, and possibly set up a live video streaming of our event so our other counter parts around the world could see us and be inspired.

Who can participate?

Developers and writers who are familiar with the Joomla! CMS and want to help.  We have considered room for up to 20 writers, but the more the merrier!
