This is a collaborative project between JenTekk Web Solutions , and rmd Studio Inc. 

North49 is a Vancouver based company specialized in developing, installing, and maintaining Sage Accpac ERP since 1989. They are authorized partners and developers of Sage Software . The principle owners Etiene Grobler and Rob Eichhorn deliver more than 20 years of valuable experience to their clients offering CRM and Accounting applications. Their client list includes companies such as BC Hydro and Vancity Credit Union .

Their corporate website used to run using a set of php scripts on a Windows server.  In order to update the site, their staff actually had to make changes to the website source code. In order to boost their marketing impact, their website needed to become more informative and visually more appealing.

Today the North49 corporate website has an improved appearance and it is powered by Joomla! CMS running on a UNIX server. This content management system has been customized and configured using additional extensions developed by rmd Studio.

Customizing a CMS Solution

As an example, one of the custom extensions enables North49 content providers to insert custom contact forms on every page that they wish. These contact forms can do data verifications, and they use AJAX to submit messages to the recipients thanks to the wonderful Mootools Javascript Framework used in this project. 

A list of different forms can be managed using Joomla's intuitive and easy to use Administration panel. Different forms can be pointed to different recipients. Forms can also be activated, or deactivated at will.

North49's website template is designed by our business associate JenTekk Web Solutions. Information Design, Content Development Graphic Design, and Content Entry were also done by the same company.

Building an Infrastructure 

rmd Studio also helped North49 find a reliable hosting company, and then created Development, Staging, and Live installations of the corporate website, so North49's staff could better maintain their website content and CMS web application in a more secure and confident fashion.

We provided training too

North49 received training and tips on how to:

• operate the content management system and publish content.
• better optimize their articles so they could get better ranking on Google and Yahoo search engines (SEO).
• use Joomla! CMS as an Intranet for their company, and publish content that are only visible to the company employees.
