AnesCheck Mobile Anesthesia Checklist And Reporting Apps
The AnesCheck Mobile Anesthesia Checklist and Reporting System is a clinical checklist system to support anesthesia safety and documentation workflows across multiple hospital departments. We have also done another similar project called the AnesList Mobile app.
Mobile Anesthesia Checklist App
The cross-platform mobile app for iOS and Android allows anesthesia teams to complete structured preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative checklists directly at the point of care. The checklist follows clinical best practices, including detailed fields such as patient history, airway assessments, administered medications, fluid balance, and post-anesthesia recovery planning. Each item is accompanied by a clear description, acting as a clinical decision support tool and standardization aide.
Key sections include:
- Preoperative: Procedure details, patient demographics, ASA status, allergies, medication list, and clinical team
- Intraoperative: Anesthetic technique, airway classification, equipment checks, medication administration, and cardiopulmonary stability
- Postoperative: PACU planning, recovery orders, and discharge disposition
- Miscellaneous: Protocols, OR coordination, and handoff documentation
AnesCheck Dashboard Web App for Clinical Researchers
The Mobile Anesthesia Checklist app is offline-first, meaning it collects data without an internet connection. It later syncs the stored data to a secure cloud backend, allowing researchers, quality officers, and decision-makers to analyze checklist usage in real-time across provincial health regions.
The web dashboard presents high-level reports of checklist activity, with options to filter data by provinces and hospitals. It also allows downloading filtered data sets in CSV format, enabling informed decisions and continuous improvement. Dashboard features include:
- Visualizing the locations of hospitals on the map where users are completing the checklists
- Displaying completion trends over time by date
- Completion rate breakdown (e.g., 80% Completed vs. 20% Incomplete)
- Departmental performance analysis with a bar chart comparing completion status across departments (e.g. Anesthesia, Surgery, OB/GYN, ICU, ER)
This platform improves clinical consistency, data integrity, and postoperative handoff quality while enabling regional health authorities to monitor compliance and optimize workflow at scale. AnesCheck is an ideal model for other regional health projects that combine mobile-first clinical tools with centralized analytics dashboards for quality assurance, training, or research oversight.
